A dietitian is a person, that helps patients alter their nutrition based upon their medical conditions and/or individual needs. Dietitians are regulated professionals licensed to assess, diagnose, and treat nutritional problems. Personal trainers, friends and health foodies all may have great advice, but they are not dietitians and aren't allowed to write diets and/or supplementation programs to solve any medical conditions, including obesity and below normal weight.
Chances are that you have tried various popular diets. Maybe you turned vegan or took the Paleo route? Maybe you have tried a low carb diet or one of the low fat ones? And most likely it worked! For a little while... The truth is that all these diets have their benefits. So why didn't you reach or maintain your goal?
You know those jeans that say 'one size fits all' but it never fits you? Well, the same goes for diets. Not one person is the same, so not one diet should be the same either. The only thing each diet should have in common, is the fact that they should all be healthy for the mind, body and soul. This means that, the regime should fulfill your individual needs, your favorite flavors and the flexibility to fit into your personal schedule.
Are your friends raving about this new diet or a magic weight loss pill? Is your timeline filled with meal replacement shakes? And this time you know for sure, that you will finally lose that weight. But for the 10th time, it seems like you are the only one that these hypes don't seem to work for?
You are not the only one, not even close. Everyone's goal is so different. Even if your goals would be the exact same on paper, everyone's internal chemistry is still so unique. What is healthy for one, could be damaging to someone else. What makes one person's skin clear up, could make the other break out. There are many factors such as genetics, allergies and hormone (dis)balances. These all play a part in what foods and regimes will work for you personally. Sadly google does not provide a personalized answer for you, but we do.
